How to stop feeling overwhelmed

One of the most prevalent reasons I hear for people wanting to use use a planner is to help overcome feelings of feelings overwhelm.

People may feel overwhelmed in their business and life for a variety of reasons, such as having too much work to do, feeling like they are not making enough progress, or feeling like they are not good enough. Additionally, people may also feel overwhelmed due to personal issues such as financial problems, relationship issues, or health problems.

Here are some tips on overcoming feelings of overwhelm;

Identify the source of the overwhelm. Once the source is identified, there are several strategies that can be employed to reduce feelings of overwhelm and regain a sense of control.

Write everything down/ Brain dump your tasks and idea. Trying to carry around to much in our minds can make us feel scattered, cluttered and overwhelmed. Writing down everything you think you need to do can give instant relief from worry and help you feel more in control.

Prioritize tasks and focus on the most important and urgent tasks first. This helps to ensure that important tasks are completed, and it also helps to reduce the feeling of being overwhelmed by a large number of tasks.

Break tasks down into smaller, more manageable chunks. Large tasks can be daunting, but breaking them down into smaller tasks can make them feel more manageable and less overwhelming.

Allocate a time to do everything in your planner.

This will stop you from trying to multitask and let you focus  methodically on one thing at a time 

Take breaks throughout the day to clear the mind and recharge. Taking short breaks can help to reduce feelings of stress and anxiety, and it can also help to improve focus and productivity.

Practice mindfulness Practising mindful techniques such as meditation and deep breathing can also be helpful in reducing feelings of overwhelm. Mindfulness practices help to focus the mind on the present moment and can reduce feelings of stress and anxiety.

Delegate tasks to others, if possible. Delegating tasks to others can reduce the workload and help to reduce feelings of overwhelm.

Seek support from friends, family, or therapist THis can be so helpful in reducing feelings of overwhelm. Talking to someone about your feelings can help to provide perspective and can also help to reduce feelings of isolation.

Be kind to yourself, Remember that it is okay to not be perfect and to give credit to yourself for what you have accomplished. Putting too much pressure on yourself can lead to feelings of overwhelm.
